ok. so personally, i dont like this photo. Lets start with the bad. This photo doesnt follow the rule of thirds. I personally think that it could use more vibrance and better framing. The subject is also a little overdone.... i mean who hasnt taken a picture of a rainbow? If i were the photographer i would have changed the framing to include most of the rainbow entering on the right side of the picture and i also would've changed the orientation to landscape instead of portrait seeing as it would have included more of the most insteresting parts of what you dont see. the waves in the water.
OK. now this pucture is a default picture found on the apple computers. I personally like this picture because it is insteresting to me and i like the fact that only the closest layers are infocus, the mid layers are still slightly in focus and then the farthest back are completely out of focus. this gives the picture the depth that is necessary to stay interesting. It may be one solid color but upon close inspection there is hints of browns and lighter yellows in there making this picture not so bland.
